
Canadians registered 431,861 new motor vehicles in the second quarter, declining 11.2% from the same period in 2021 but increasing 27.1% from the first quarter of 2022. Since 2017, the second quarter of each year has shown the highest number of new registrations, with the exception of 2020, when dealerships were closed for half of the second quarter due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
